Jazbaa (2015)

hanging mystery
12 October 2015
of course the premise of the movie is very clear from the trailer- a defense attorney's daughter is kidnapped and she is forced to defend a rape, murder accused in exchange of her daughter's release. in the movie, the mystery about the kidnapper and the reason for this strange request is very well built up. the audience is kept guessing about this until the end. in addition there are some more twists in the movie which make the story even more interesting.

but by the time the movie's ending approaches, all these begin to crumble. 1st of all when the mystery is finally revealed you'll think "this is it? is this the best logic the writer could think of behind this whole mystery drama?" the solution doesn't look at all convincing and is one of the stupidest i could think of. secondly all the other twists in the movie turn out to be nothing. their whole purpose was to build up the mystery, but adds nothing to the actual solution. looks like the writer concentrated so much on the mystery build up that he forgot about the actual solution.

there are other stupid mistakes in the movie (which i can't tell without giving out spoilers), but even then i was thinking that these were typical of any bollywood movie and was hoping at least the climax would be good. but ultimately it turned out to be one of the worst waste of time for me.

I also found that it's a remake of a Korean film, but i don't know how faithful the film makers were to the original story.
