It is quite unfair to compare 'Dilwale' with 'Bajirao Mastani' because both films are as different as chalk and cheese, while 'Dilwale' is meant for the sole purpose of escapist, larger than life entertainment with all ingredients being thrown in, to cater to the mass audiences, 'Bajirao Mastani' SLB's latest offering, has more artistic value, and is a epic which will be remembered for some time. 'Dilwale' comes with a baggage of expectations given it's a SRK-Kajol movie, arguably the iconic pair of bollywood. Varun Dhawan plays SRK's younger brother in the movie and Kriti Shanon plays Kajol's kid sister. The story is about how the youngsters fall in love, and reunite their elder who in the past were separated because of misunderstandings. Twists unfold, cars fly, bullets get shot, songs take place in dream sequences, 'Dilwale' is a true-blue masala film, and Rohit Shetty knows how to make one. The first half is just good enough, but the second half is great, and keeps you entertained. Though mind you, don't take things too seriously. Acting wise, SRK Kajol are the heart and soul of this movie, more than anyone else the film belongs to them, it is always a pleasure to watch them together, and they do not disappoint. Varun and kriti are good too. Johnny lever, Varun Sharma, and sanjay mishra bring on the laughs.Pritam's music is great with songs like 'gerua' 'janam janam' and 'tukur tukur'. Overall, 'Dilwale' is a well made masala film. Just don't take it very seriously and sit back and enjoy. Rating: 6.5/10
