Rough life for a Native teen...
24 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I found this film to be sad because the Native teen is forced to live with the everyday problems that Native kids go through with racism on a daily basis. I felt that the other teens kept using him for their own personal gain by forcing him to do things that he really didn't want to do. That's why he kept hanging around them .. to see how they would respond to him. For example, the scenes of drug experimentation: Jed really didn't want to go through with that nor did he really want to hang around those other kids since they were just a very bad influence on him. It's a real shame that certain kids feel as if they need to "belong to the in-crowd". Teens should just be themselves without going through the BS of peer pressure and all that. This is why most Native teens go through hell with non-Natives. Ignorance of other cultures do have serious consequences and in this case, the non-Native teens never gave a damn about Jed or his Native roots. Anyways... I give this film a 7 out of 10.
