Warning: Spoilers
Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) is found naked, amnesiac, and stuffed in a duffel bag in Times Square. She is covered in tattoos and one of them is the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller. Along with Special Agents Edgar Reade, Tasha Zapata, forensic Patterson, and psychiatrist Dr. Robert Borden under the leadership of Bethany Mayfair, they investigate the meaning of each tattoo which leads to crimes and a dark conspiracy.

This starts off with a great visual premise. It doesn't get more intriguing than a naked tattooed Jaimie Alexander stuffed in a bag in Time Square. It's a weirder version of Prison Break except that premise makes perfect sense right from the start. This show struggles to be realistic and the explanation for her tattoos barely passes the smell test. Jane Doe's twisty origins get crazier and more convoluted. It's a very convoluted show which eventually loses me somewhere in the second season. The more intriguing character is Ashley Johnson playing Patterson. At least, she gets to solve a tattoo every episode. Her character loses a little when her boyfriend gets killed. The tension of him helping with the tattoos is a good part of the first season.
