Rendezvous with Rama (2003 Video)
4/10
A rendezvous that won't result in a relationship - no connection made here

Warning: Spoilers
"Rendezvous with Rama" is an American 3-minute Sci-Fi short film from 2003, so this one will have his 15th anniversary next year. It is the only directorial effort by prolific and successful visual effects artist Aaron M. Ross and his main profession clearly shows in here because if there is anything memorable in this very short movie, then it may be the effects, even if those aren't anything special either for a 21st century film. The entire thing is set in space and it may also partially have to do with my dislike of Sci-Fi that I found it underwhelming, but I'd still be curious what Oscar-nominated writer Arthur C. Clarke thought about this effort as he was still alive when this was released. By the way he would have his 100th birthday soon. Anyway, overall this is of course a film about a spaceship, not what you put on your bread (oh yes I did!). But I found it all very forgettable, especially the plot if there even is something like that in here. Ross'd better stay in the effects department as this one here is not a failure, but close and I give it a thumbs-down without hesitation. Watch something else instead.
