Thundersub, blue Noah, or simply the blue submarine, is one of the best Japanese anime ever made in my opinion. The storyline, music, animation... all are very impressive and very touchy. This anime was a huge inspiration for me growing up in the 80's and the 90's... The English interpretation is not the best but it is OK for what it is...
The anime has a very nice and clear message, the poor Gothamites followed mindlessly Dictator Z who promised them a dream Satellite that would save the Gotham race from a total annihilation as a result of an approaching blackhole, a destiny earth itself could find itself in (well not a blackhole but maybe a massive meteoroid). Due to faults in the satellite design, Dictator Z insisted on taking the earth knowing it's inhabited by humans. Captain Noah takes on the responsibility of fighting back with a crew of young men and 1 woman (that Captain's own daughter). The anime progresses slowly until the defeat of Gotham and ends with younger generation becoming in charge to prevent similar events of happening again.
