Different but same is so cheesy, stereotypical, and goofy which makes for a fun show! Different but Same is a mix between mob stories, surfer dude, and pro wrestling. Johnny gets his car torched mob style! Alpha surfer Johnny confronts Danial in a big way. Breakfast, drinks and a chance to become friends almost happens then fate hits hard with the plot twist of Johnny's kid. Real life details like the bar scene, drinking talk, real life stories shared between Johnny and Danial which probably happened in a similar way in real lifes makes realistic details which make the audience love the show. The high school gang has revenge a party, drinks, and faults of being Alpha male/ Cobra Kai which which makes history repeat itself. Johnny's mistakes which pushed his girl away are repeated! Much humor, tongue and cheek, but with a social message. We can design are own failures and misunderstandings. Eight stars.
