I'll admit...I didn't watch all of it. Only a bit at the beginning and end. And I could barely stomach those parts. I have the same problem I have with almost any other movie about a disabled person. We always have to be "fixed".
For the majority of us, no experimental surgery will help. Life isn't going to get all rosey after the doctors try and "fix" us. And we don't miraculously become "normal" people.
Please...make a movie that has a blind person always blind. A deaf person always deaf. And someone in a wheelchair who doesn't get up and walk down the isle at the end.
Living life disabled in an able world isn't easy but no one's life is. These movies just perpetuate the idea we need to be "fixed", and aid the belief that we can only be accepted when we are normal.
