What To Say....
1 February 2019
Huge fans please don't hate me but I must say that I don't know much about Lovecraft aside from knowing that he was a well known author. I do watch a lot of horror though and I've seen at least one of his stories turned into film. That being "The Whisperer in Darkness" (2011). This really wasn't my cup of tea. I guess it's because it felt more like straight-up sci-fi rather than horror. I can see the horror of the situation but it didn't scare me and it didn't me my expectations of being more mythological. It really felt like I was watching an alien film and, like I said, that's just not my cup of tea.

This was a low budget film so let's talk about the quality. The acting was, I don't know, I don't want to say that it was ok because it wasn't but I have seen worse so you can make of that what you will. The special effect and stunt work seemed cheesy at times but it was bearable. I felt the setting and camera work were ok.

Once again, I'm not too familiar with Lovecraft so I'll discuss the story as it is presented in the film. The story was decent but not too satisfying. This may very well be due to the screenplay but I don't know, it was just missing something.

All-in-all, this was an average B-movie. It is forgettable. I'm glad I watched it but I probably won't watch it again.
