Beck: Colors (2018 Music Video)

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have the song and music video for Colors by Grammy-winning recording artist Beck. this one runs for slightly under 4.5 minutes and Beck got British director Edgar Wright on bord here as well as his fellow Californian Alison Brie, a fairly famous actress you could say. The song was one of the later (final?) releases from the album also named Colors. The dominating colors in here are blue, white and yellow and as we see wild dance sequences by Brie and everybody around her, we hear Beck sing. Well I must admit I am not the greatest fan of Beck and not too familiar with most of his songs and album works, but this one here did not really make me curious either. The song did almost nothing for me, the music video and visual effects of it certainly elevate the overall outcome, so good job by Wright. But as a whole, it is just not enough for a positive recommendation for me. Beck does not exactly see to be the guy to make something you could call a pointless fun song like Pharrell's Happy for example, but here he goes for it and fails for the most part. But thanks to the video, it is not a failure overall. If you really want to check it out, then don't just listen to the record. I'd really only recommend it to Brie fans, even if she sure felt like overacting a bit here and it did not feel entirely right. I guess the only real reason why this is featured here on imdb and in addition why it has a solid amount of ratings is really that it is a bit of a spectacular watch. Feels rather on the style over substance side though. Skip.
