I don't think there has ever been such a squandering of acting and directing talent and potential storyline in a series.
Were there no executives that saw the episodes before airing? Did none of the actors rebel and scheme, but just allowed the writers destroy the story?
Maybe this season's story is a mirror of how it was produced: burning everything down without any purpose.
