Family Guy: And Then There Were Fewer (2010)
Season 9, Episode 1
10/10
A Family Guy murder mystery where they permanently kill off a few minor characters? Amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
I can not describe the genius of this episode without spoiling important details. I thought it was very impressive that Family Guy was able to keep focus on this plot and not bog down the pacing of a serious murder mystery with random unrelated cutaways. Road to the Multiverse also only had one cutaway before the multiverse travel started, but no more after that. The premise is that 22 characters have been invited to James Woods' mansion for a dinner in their honor because he wants to make amends with them, and a news intern named Priscilla helped him become a born-again Christian. I loved having Ashley Tisdale, Candace Flynn's voice, play Priscilla, and she voices another character in another episode of Season 9, Brian Writes a Bestseller.

When Stephanie gets shot, everyone thinks James Woods is an evil banana who invited them just to kill them instead of making amends, but when James Woods is killed, it turns out one of them is actually the killer. Much like the writers of Community's Remedial Chaos Theory, Cherry Chevapravatdumrong (cool name) knows how to keep us viewers guessing in suspense without lying to us. The killer turns out to be Diane Simmons, who just turned 40 years old and lost Tom Tucker and James Woods when she did. She got Priscilla to seduce James Woods and set up the apology dinner so she could kill James Woods with a gun timer and frame Tom Tucker for the murder. However, Stephanie got in the way when James left his chair, and the other murder victims happened because they saw Diane attempting to hide the evidence.
