Only neat!

Giuliano Montaldo it's an old expert of the 7th-art, he has learned the profession with some of the greatest ever, like Sergio Leone, Francesco Rossi, Carlo Lizzani, Gillo Pontecorvo. His best films, in my humble opinion, are "Sacco & Vanzetti" and "Giordano Bruno", both starring the unique Gian Maria Volontè as protagonist (Gian missing a T in English...). Here he tries to enter Dostoevsky's Russian atmosphere, impenetrable to anyone, a very difficult task. The film it's very carefully done, from all points of view, direction, acting, sets, costumes, Morricone's music, etc., but that's all, Dostoevsky is impossible to re-create in cinematic imagery.
