Review of Episode 2

A Confession: Episode 2 (2019)
Season 1, Episode 2
6/10
Episode 2
18 September 2019
The second episode continues with its dual narrative. It is also heading towards the crux of the drama. The confession.

We start with a flashback of Karen Edwards and her daughter Becky who is a heroine addict. Karen and her family are trying to wean her off drugs, unsuccessfully.

Going back to the time of Sian O'Callaghan's disappearance. DI Steve Fulcher is dealing with time wasters and hopes that the Deputy Chief Constable of the force is not implicated.

With Sian's family worried, the police get a breakthrough with CCTV footage. Suspicion falls on a local taxi driver Christopher Halliwell.

The problem with A Confession is. It is another sensitive true life crime drama made by ITV, written by Jeff Pope that is broadcast just a few months after Manhunt starring Martin Clunes.

It is only near the end of the episode where Fulcher contemplates breaking the rules of interrogation which marks it out to be different.
