Hitchcock remakes a 1921 silent film with same actors (at least two in major ones) with sound added
11 April 2020
Based on Galsworthy's play. the film's credits give more importance to the playwright than the director or Hitchcock's wife who co-scripted the film. Pure melodrama, little else.

But wait, there was a 1921 silent film with some of the same actors playing the very same characters in the Hitchcock version! They are Helen Haye as Mrs Hilcrist (Hitchcock used her again in The 39 Steps) and Edmund Gwen as Mr Hornblower (roped in by Hitchcock once again in "The Trouble with Harry" after 3 decades).
