Wow, its bleak and horrible in all the right places and stark and engaging in others. Its more of an endurance to get through till the end but if anything, I ended this movie with a sense of triumph, more so that I actually got through to the end. It doesn't hold any punches and never stops to give you a rest. The mud, rain and sense of death is almost too much to bear but in the end, its a film I'd like to own on Blu Ray. Also loved the sound. Its not for the faint hearted though. Outstanding production values especially the sets. Oh my gosh, the miserable mud, and the rain. The middle Ages would have sucked.
