Wacky 80's horny teen comedy blast
5 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Libidinous young dudes Ben (likeable Rob Morrow) and Jack (a pre-stardom Johnny Depp in his first lead role) go to a posh Florida resort with the specific intention of scoring with hot babes. Complications ensue when the pair run afoul of jewel thief the Maestro (ably played with considerable campy gusto by Hector Elizondo).

Director George Bowers keeps the slight and silly, but still enjoyable story moving along at a zippy pace, maintains an engaging breezy tone throughout, gets a good deal of laughs from the amusing sense of goofy lowbrow humor (the slapstick foot chase scenes in particular are positively hysterical), and presents a pleasing plethora of foxy ladies with nice bodies in skimpy bikinis or less. Moreover, it's acted with zest by an enthusiastic cast: Emily Longstreth as perky waitress Patti, Karyn O'Bryan as the ravishing Dana, Dody Goodman as doddery, yet feisty old lady mark Mrs. Rawlings, Leslie Easterbrook as the Maestro's va-va-voomish bombshell wife Bobbie Sue, Tony Azito as overzealous hotel detective Reeves, Hilary Shepard as the flaky Shirley, Michael Bowen as the smarmy Scott, Lisa London as ditsy drunk Alice, Andrew "Dice" Clay as swaggering macho stud Curt, and Christopher Wynne as zany punker Mike. Adam Greenberg's slick'n'sunny cinematography provides an attractive bright look. A real hoot.
