Someone has got final cut and wants to show off all his skills.
Poorly directed and edited, below average cinematography too and the music is all over the place. No cohesion anywhere; this needed a narrator badly and far fewer talking heads that gibber on about nothing, but even that wouldn't have saved it. Pick a language, English or French or gel the scenes together better. Don't show subtitles in white text when it's a snow scene.
This documentary didn't know what it wanted to be. An extreme sports show? Showing how powerful the world and it's elements can be and the people who challenge them? Nope it was just a load of skiing and surfing with a couple of other sports chucked in. Time per each sport wasn't evenly distributed and it made it dull, boring and near unwatchable. So much hype, I do not understand?
There are much better sports docs out there, in fact this ranks as one of the most boring. 2 stars because I appreciate the effort it takes to film in these environments. Other than that...nope.
