La Commare Secca ( The Grim Reaper ) - 1962

A crime thriller with a narrow scene created of the murder which goes through the interrogation of people present at the time of the murder at the murder location and around. The topic may seem interesting as in interrogation the suspects tell lie always which is opposite of the truth shown on parallel screen which keeps audience interest in the film but it starts getting little boring by 3rd or 4th suspect because of repetition of same thing i.e. interrogating people present at murder sight maybe because we neither see the interrogator and nor get to know how the interrogator able to catch all those suspects. Few of the interrogations and suspects seem to be put in the film without any sense but each character makes an interesting lie story of themselves. To show the timing of the incident happening by different suspects, The rain is brilliantly used where the story of each subject comes the common scene of rain and the lady getting ready in the room and each suspect moving to murder location

Camera work is brilliantly done at some places like establishing shot and the next character shot is not two different shots at some scenes. Cinematographer used a brilliant trick to maintain establishing shot and intro of character in the same scene by some amazing movement of camera or placement of camera and movement of characters. Getting into a new scene and going out of the scene before the next main scene is captured brilliantly. There is not much background music as it's going through the interrogation process but wherever it is, it is very good with the addition of characters whistling, singing and enjoying themselves in some scenes.

In the end, they show who killed the prostitute and who saw the murder, and able to catch him with the help of a guy who saw the murder seem so obvious but ending lines by a murderer which says "I haven't done anything wrong, she is a prostitute" leaves a great impact on viewers.
