I remember watching the original Veggietales videos when I was a kid at the time when CGI animation was rising. And I even owned a CD which included the songs.
That being said, the show has left an impact on so many people who grew up in the 90's. Not only does it provide some thought-provoking themes when it comes to telling biblical stories while giving some comedic levity, but it also has some fun and charm. The characters, mostly Bob, Larry, Junior, and Archibald Asparagus , are likeable and heartwarming, the musical numbers are really good, and the stories are not only funny, but tearjerking and poignant.
If there's one quibble I do have with the show is that the animation in the earlier entries does feel dated although it did improve over the years.
Overall, Veggietales is one of the best children's shows ever made.
