An Okay Watch

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, Jack Black is funny and is the perfect actor to portray someone as outrageous as this Polka King. However, he and Jacki Weaver can't carry this film entirely on their own. There are some slow parts to this movie and a lot of the time it's either Black or Weaver who save the day and grab back your attention. It does keep you interested in wanting to know how Lewan's schemes will catch up with him, but some of the scenes in this film are just boring. I know a big plot point is when Lewan bribes someone at the local beauty pageant so his annoying wife can win but the side story of his wife feeling second place to him wasn't interesting. If anything it was cringe to see her hog the mic at one of her husband's shows telling everyone how she's just as talented. I'm unsure if that happened in real life, it probably did, but the way it was done in the film just was really awkward and out of place. I know that scene was important to set up the beauty pageant scandal but I felt it could've been done differently in a way that made it actually funny or interesting. All in all I think the movie is watchable, it's not perfect, but if you can't find anything to watch then this is a nice filler.
