"Beaufort" is based on the novel by Ron Leshem and follows the story of a group of soldiers stationed on an outpost prior to the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon in 2000. The story in the film is not based on true characters or a true story, but rather examines and gives a point of view on the soldiers perspective on the war, the outpost, their fallen brothers and more. The movie shows the soldiers reaction to their dead friends in the most realistic way possible. There are fantastic actors in "Beaufort" and every one of them gives a compelling and great performance. The final scene where the soldiers come back home after they blew up the fortress and left Lebanon is a truly beautiful sequence, the moment where Liraz the protagonist (Oshri Cohen) tears up on the ground is emotional and gives the film a peaceful ending, a nice closure upon the hero's view.
