Two great songs and some beautiful Italian scenery

Warning: Spoilers
That is the only good thing about this film...yes, two great songs and beautiful Italian scenery. The overall story is about the American born wife of a British Viola player, who accompanies her husband to Italy while he is on a job. While he is working, she goes sightseeing on day one and meets a nineteen year old, dope-smoking good for nothing lay about kid who is broke and the type to run out on a check which he does with her. She decides he is more fun to hang out with than her responsible grown ass husband, so she starts a sexual affair with him, then tells her husband she is leaving him. In a WAY to understanding moment, her husband gives her a free pass to do what she needs to do...but comeback after his main performance to meet him at the train station to go home to London together. He does this because she has had several miscarriages and he thinks she is still grieving. She runs off back to the kid, then abandons him, but manages to toy with her husband one last time by showing up at the train station just to NOT go home with him...but to run off somewhere else alone. There is a sub-theme which includes her writing a book from transcribed tapes of her grandmother speaking about WWII times in Europe, but she is bored the book. The husband was a kind individual who didn't deserve to get screwed over...and frankly deserved better than her. The kid was an idiot...but young. And our protagonist was truly awful, deadpan acting in addition to a just horrible character. There is no excuse for her behavior. This film didn't leave me feeling anything. Hard to watch and I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.
