Sue Buttons (Allison Janney ) has low self-esteem issues and listens to affirmation tapes. Her husband Karl (Matthew Modine ) becomes the focal point when he goes missing. He dies in a motel home when Sue catches him with another woman (Bridget Everett). Rather than do the right thing, she disposes of the body and reports him missing for media attention. As the attention wanes, Sue comes up with a new detail to keep the story alive. Unfortunately Karl was laundering money that has now gone missing. Other people are looking for him. And they are not nice.
The film had the right about of twists and turns. Characters played by Wanda Sykes and Awkwafina made this a very fun film.
