Richard Pryor, comedic genius, was influential to my life as a white girl in the 70s because he is funny as hell and opened my eyes. I can't even fathom what he meant to black people who were hearing their voice on stage in a raw, vulnerable, uncensored way by this brilliant comedian doing spot on imitations of white people. Pryor's routine outshines the test of time. Magnificence and truth never go out of style, though they were born of the time.
