WrestleMania 37 (2021 TV Special)
7/10
More hype than substance, but only one dud out of 14 matches is not a bad score
16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Lashley vs. McIntyre ***1/2 a pretty good hossdown.

Women's Tag-Team Turmoil ** heatless because of the thrown-together teams.

Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro *** a little too late for a major Cesaro push, but his dizzying swinging move IS pretty funny.

New Day vs. AJ Styles & Omos *** Boring first half, but fun when the seemingly unbeatable behemoth Omos enters the match.

Strowman vs. Shane **1/2 the outcome is obviously a given, but it's not quite the squash you would expect, and there is one trademark high-risk Shane O'Mac stunt.

Bad Bunny & Damian Priest vs. Miz and Morrison *** Bad Bunny performs surprisingly well in the ring but this entire segment (including the promos) is way, way too long.

Bianca vs. Sasha ***1/2 solid main event with impressive power moves by Bianca, somewhat spoiled by the commentary confusion at the most critical moment.

Orton vs. Fiend *1/2 This is the dud I was talking about, this feud is played out.

Natalya & Tamina vs. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler *** this was enjoyable, the two teams are well-matched for power and submission maneuvers.

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn **1/2 it's OK but the storyline kills it (where is the rivalry?)

Riddle vs. Sheamus ***1/2 for pure wrestling probably the best match of the PPV, the outcome caught me by surprise.

Big E vs. Apollo Crews **1/2 Nigerian Drum Fight = A Streetfight by any other name....

Ripley vs. Asuka ***1/2 this was more even and competitive than Bianca/Sasha (where one woman had the upper hand most of the time), and Rhea is a bona fide star, but the ending feels rushed.

Edge vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns **** great main event with some innovative spots and a big-match feel.

Overall no classics but only one dud out of 14 matches is no small feat.
