This is one of the most beautiful, atmospheric and haunting looking films out there. The light feels almost natural, the costumes are deliciously colorless and the location is fantastically eerie. All in all The Name Of The Rose feels so real, so raw in it's colors and settings, it almost feels like a documentary. Its basically a whodunnit but that is not that interesting. No what makes this film worth your time is not its plot but its pictures.
