If you want to know why filmmakers still consider the shower scene in "Psycho" as one of the greatest, most innovative, and most influential in cinema history, then watch this excellent documentary. I knew a few things about the scene going in, including that a body double was used for Janet Leigh, but here we meet her and hear many details of her experience. Everyone knows Bernard Herrmann's iconic score, with its terrifying screech of strings and ominous bass tones, but what do great contemporary movie composers such as Danny Elfman think about it? Even horror movie directors whom I'm not a huge fan of, such as Eli Roth, have fascinating things to share about how Hitchcock's defining of "suspense" on film has helped them define and differentiate their own work. I know a lot of lovers of the movies don't like to know about the art and science behind movie mysteries, but those of us fanatics/geeks/nerds who do enjoy picking these things apart will truly enjoy this documentary. 9/10 for us.
