The first feature length adaptation of the famous Jules Verne novel can't compete with the later Disney version. It was famous at the time for being the fist movie with underwater scenes and it was a big budget production for a young Universal Pictures, that was already betting on the "fantastique". The movie adds plot elements from "The Mysterious Island", but it's a narrative mess and has very poor storytelling. Still interesting for the early special effects and for a strange Nemo/Santa Claus characterisation.
