Oh, look, the Brits discovered Wes Anderson! Call it "Moonrise (United) Kingdom"
3 August 2021
Writer /director Emily Mortimer catapults English filmmaking all the way into... the 2010s! The super-fast edits. The super goofy characters. The cute title cards naming every character and place. The timehopping soundtrack. The over composed scenes. Great tribute/ embezzlement of Wes Anderson's style. And this is pretty fun for the first 30 minutes. But the story goes...nowhere. There's no tension. No true plot. No point other than art direction.
