To start out, the developers took the formula of 7 and added +1 to the action and -1 to the horror but not to much detriment. While it was less scary than 7, the combat possibilities are a lot more fun. I doubt they'll ever be able to top the perfect balance of RE2 remake but we'll see what RE4 remake has to offer.
For the people comparing it to RE4 based solely on the rustic village setting...I mean..ok I guess lol - seems a bit of a superficial comparison imho. It's a very different game.
The plot was a bit bonkers. Chris's secretive nature was completely arbitrary and seemed just made for marketing purposes like "ooooh is he bad now?!?". I can't help but think this scenario could all gone down much more smoothly had Chris just communicated the situation from the get go given that Ethan has been undergoing tons of training regardless.
Anyway, fun game with great art that sacrifices a bit of horror for more combat but I thought the plot could've been a lot better.
