The dismantaling of the Trek franchise into a Star Wars clone
30 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Yes it's a kids show but the very identity of the star trek franchise has literally been replaced with the star wars money grab.

Trek & Wars are two different entity's with both having its particular audience, Star Wars has always been a money grab targeting children through the adults bank accounts & ever since JJ Dipwad's involvement Trek has gone the same way.

Trying to garner a newer younger audience for Star Trek is a good thing but do it with Star Trek not with a clone of Star Wars, quite literally the only thing in this pilot episode that bares any resemblance to Trek is the design of the Federation ship & the hologram of Jane way, yes there's a few names of Trek races thrown in for good measure but the entire "feel" of this show is Star Wars, from the mysterious villain encased in a machine (vader) to the "evil" mechanical monster ( grievous.) & the scuttling robots ( droids.), surprisingly this is actually a CBS production or "Star Wars ripoff" to be more accurate & there is nothing unique or imaginative in the story or plot with comparisons to "solo" & "episode IV" being blatant with a little "beyond" thrown in for good measure then straight back to "eps 1 to 3" before finishing up with a few stolen scenes from the "Ray & finn" era.

For years we've have been inundated with Star Wars shows & movies, animated & live action, those that are aimed at kids are successful, those aimed at adults less so & it won't change, the Disney group have no interest in the uniqueness or individuality of a product, only in its ability to make money & Star Wars appeals to kids & it makes money, lots of it, so it would seem CBS have taken a leaf out of Disneys rule book of " how to destroy franchises for maximum profit" & instead of creating a decent imaginative Star Trek show for the younger audience the Trek franchise is now being deconstructed into a tacky Star wars ripoff, shame on Kevin & Dan Hageman & shame on CBS.
