I want these hours of my life back. This "series" is like being down in vegas and you just keep betting the next hand will at least give you back what you lost. No! Get out. He dies at the end - the selfish moron he was the entire 3 hours. Wish he's died 5 minutes in. For three hours we're forced to watch him do his best to ruin every life he touches. It's also just so dumb! The wife, that henchard sold, does everything for her daughter! It's all she cares about. She even Marries the man who sold her just to give her daughter a good life. So how does it make any sense that when she's dying, and now really really really needs henchard to take care of her daughter when she's dead, she leaves a letter telling henchard that she's not really his daughter?!?! How the F does that make ANY sense?! He then gives the letters that will ruin his ex, to the guy who hates him to deliver safely back to the ex??? (And OF COURSE the guy reads them to the entire bar). This crap makes Days of our Lives look like Steinbeck. BAD baaaaaaad writing! And then the rest of it just goes down and down and down from there. It's pure drivel. At the end Henchard goes to crash his "daughters" wedding (why you ask? No one knows) and hides the present he brought her, a bird in a cage, in the bushes. Um....why?!?! Then he leaves after glancing his daughter. Why?? No one knows. So of course the bird dies. And then of course the daughter finds it and finds it's from him. And of course! Instead of repeating and standing by her dialogue from the previous scene (how can I love you when your selfish) - this poor dead bird (pure stupidity abs selfishness) that he killed makes her run after him. Why?!?!?! Well, to find him dead of course so the writer can make some poor actor say some silly poorly written melodramatic victim line "I was nothing, don't mourn me". Oh, no, you weren't nothing! You stole 3 hours of my life! For absolutely no point whatsoever. Not even a tiny itty bitty shred of meaning or poignancy. JUST BAD.
