The show really was the Mod Squad of the 1980's. Kids that could not be taken seriously as cops but the good Captain there decided to put them undercover as HS students though they were in their early to mid twenties there.
Depp was the show but that it suffered indeed when it left and when the other regulars leaving, it would lead to the cancellation.
Show was one of the very first shows to land at the fledging Fox in 1987 launch there. Did not shy away fron subjects of the day like drugs, race, crime, etc.
