Within a few minutes of watching this lamentable effort I found myself asking which gullible halfwit coughed up the finance, where it was screened and above all how a man of Walter Matthau's ability and intelligence could have perpetrated such unadulterated rubbish. The sheer awfulness of this beggars belief whilst the supporting players have all undergone a charisma bypass and deservedly worked for peanuts.
In 1955 Mr. Matthau featured in 'The Kentuckian', directed by Burt Lancaster and allegedly informed Mr. Lancaster "you have no idea what you're doing". Four years on that remark seems supremely ironic.
