Against the Law (2017 TV Movie)

Immensely powerful
30 January 2022
It might be hard to imagine to young people these days what horrible and unjust repression gay people had to endure even in the second half of the 20th century. Sadly, there are still some states in our Union that allow people to get fired or denied housing for simply being who they are. Big gains are made, but the struggle continues. " Against the Law", BBC TV movie based on the book written by the protagonist Peter Wildeblood is short, stark and immensely powerful work where the tragic story is mixed in with the heartbreaking testimony of elderly survivors, gay men in their 80's and 90's. Their suffering made them only stronger and braver. You can't defeat human spirit.
