Game of Thrones: The Laws of Gods and Men (2014)
Season 4, Episode 6
9/10
Trial by Combat
26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
1. Stannis gets funding for the iron throne 2. Yara tries to rescue Theon 3. Tyrion stands on trial

I wish they spent more time in the Yara battle scene in Dreadfort. It was a little awkward how they were able to leave without a scratch with the hounds. I do understand the episode was more focused on the trial but regardless, it would have been a more enjoyable scene. Reading the wiki, it says that "they deliberately wanted the entire "Yara attempts to rescue Theon" subplot to abruptly end in failure, as a fake-out to the audience to surprise them." and that Ramsay let her live because he is a sadist and he wants people to suffer.

The trial scene rivals itself with many other impressive long scenes of GoT. Peter Dinklage acts his heart out in this scene, truly feeling betrayed by his love Shae and very understandably. I am angry that Shae would falsely testify against him - why would she not understand why Tyrion had to send her away? It's just a tragedy. Could Tyrion save himself again with the hidden cheat key - "trial by combat"? A tactic that is more justifiable because of his stature, ironically.

I found this episode to be entertaining and exciting but I am not sure if it warrants to be a 10/10. But the drama and the execution was very exceptional.
