Easy Company enters Germany.

This is an important episode that depicts a truly horrific aspect of this period in history.

Warfare is an awful subject matter to portray dramatically on film, but what is shown here is truly disturbing. I can only imagine how much worse it must have been in reality. I once spoke to a WWII veteran in 2002 who was part of a unit involved in a similar liberation. He attempted to talk about his memories before breaking down in front of me.

The portrayal of Easy Company making this particular discovery goes against historical records, but the discovery itself (albeit by different soldiers) is depicted accurately according to records.

All production values are of the highest standard, with cinematography, set design, colour grading and music combining for an appropriately somber tone. The opening and closing sequences are particularly memorable.

Ron Livingston leads the episode well and there are many strong supporting performances.
