Cinema Omnivore - Poor Girl, Pretty Girl (1957) 5.5/10

"A pedestrian rom-com whose paternalistic air and Italianate slap-ready roughness, plus those high voltage cacophony caused by the actor named Memmo Carotenuto, who plays Salvatore and Anna Maria's loudmouth father with too much pretension, can be viewed as objectionable for some, the film has no distinction in nowhere. Romolo is a chav and Salvatore a simpleton, Arena's performance is un irksome whereas Salvatori, at least, sprinkles some of his rough-hewn charm hither and thither."
