Saunders Saves the Film - Confessions of a Nazi Spy
31 March 2022
George Sanders is one of my favorite actors. He could do drama just as easily as comedy. Generally, he was acerbic and terribly witty with many of his lines in several of his films. This one, however, has him playing a Nazi officer, and it is quite difficult to be witty with that type of haircut. Despite these restrictions, however, George pulls it off along with the ample talents of Edward G Robinson as a knowledgeable US operative. Supposedly, the film is fact-based, which gives it an air of authenticity.
