I don't care what decade this aired, they knew better and that was very apparent.
So the premise, all 4 ladies are calling Blanch's daughter fat and fat shaming... but then when they see Rebecca's boyfriend/fiancée do the same thing THEN they get upset over it.
So the writer's decided to fat shame and then create hypocrites turned redeemers all in one episode. Meanwhile the Rebecca character is left bartered and broken.
Normally I can look past faux pas storylines due to decades passing. But this writing? It was clear that they knew what they were doing and that it was wrong.
Disgusting.
