Disaster

Warning: Spoilers
Heads Up: You know how the preachers always say that Jesus atoned for our sins on the cross and how, if you don't repent, his suffering is in vain... Well this is a similar scenario. If you watch this after I warned you about how bad it is, I have suffered in vain just like Jesus, only worse, because Jesus didn't have to watch this episode; he just had the nails and thorny crown stuff.

No Good - Just Bad and Ugly In this episode, the main characters all risk their lives for reasons that don't make sense, and most of them die. Since I didn't care about any of these characters, I didn't mind seeing them go, and in fact I would have been fine with all of them going in the same episode, but basically at this point in the season it's getting more and more difficult to suspend disbelief.

As some of the other reviewers have said, the Ireland episodes are a complete disaster. At this point in the "story" (I use that term loosely) it seems like each of the writers wrote a scene without knowing what the previous scene was about. The plot has become overly complex and character actions seem random and driven by motivation that doesn't make much sense. Kind of feels like, "Oh it's Tuesday, so I think I'll give Abel to the Irish baby broker nuns." Father Kellen gives the explanation that he's doing it to honor the wishes of his former friend, JT, but it's a very weak explanation given the fact that the baby was kidnapped, Jax will likely whack Father Kellen for this, and at this point we know JT was a whiny emo loser and we have a hard time imagining anyone would put their life in danger based on a vague, 30 year old promise to keep JT's progeny out of the life.

This episode is ridiculous. Sometimes Sutter does a great job, but sometimes he dishes up nonsense, throwaway television. This is one of the throwaway episodes.

Other observations: Gemma is a moron, O'Neil and McGee are useless crybabies and Mo is a disgusting cringe-hag. I found my rage level was somewhat abated by turning down the sound and using subtitles so I didn't have to hear the accents.
