This was in fact Madness

Warning: Spoilers
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness was A RAIMI film. This was a film; I was so anticipating due to having Sam Raimi return to the director's chair again. I love Raimi's work, and to know he has returned to the directing chair from a Marvel movie again back since the end of Spider-Man 3 in 2007, I was ready to see what he can do in this film. And obviously, that's was I got... well, kind of.

Pros: Sam Raimi's direction and John Mathieson's cinematography is perfect in this film. Everything they did was perfect and way better than other Marvel movies they put up on the big screen. Sam Raimi brought a new tone to the MCU, and it felt so different and good. It was handled differently from all the other MCU movies but felt through and through like a good comic book adaptation. It is so unique, weird, scary, and gory that it's one of the best MCU movies, in my opinion. Plus, it has some practical effects. Finally, the MCU used some practical effects, which is something I love to criticize the MCU a lot. Finally, doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch get the development they need. Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen have done nothing but a phenomenal job playing their roles. Cumberbatch is a revelation as Dr. Strange, portraying the angst and confusion of a man who returned after getting five years of his life erased by Thanos' snap. Now he finds that the world has moved on in his absence, especially his lover, Christine (Rachel McAdams), and we get to see the human side of the world's most powerful sorcerer as he grips with his predicaments.

As Dr. Strange embarks on a perilous adventure across multiverses, we get to see the immense range of Cumberbatch in full flow, with the nuances and intricacies he brings to each version of the master sorcerer in the different worlds we visit, a joy to behold. This development is something I always wanted to see in the movies his human side and not his sorcerer side. Elizabeth Olsen continues the fine form she displayed in "Wanda Vision," delivering a perfectly balanced performance with equal parts poignant and powerful. First, she kills the Illuminati, which wasn't my Illuminati (Mines included Iron Man, Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, Doctor Strange, Namor, and Black Bolt ARE MY Illuminati). Plus glad they killed them off since I wasn't a fan of this version of them. But Wanda didn't make any jokes or quips, and she had a mission where she lost so much that she needed therapy not to get killed. And when she finally sees she's the monster, it's heartbreaking but also true that she finally got the truth out. Benedict Wong and Xochitl Gómez were also great in their roles. Especially Gomez, a newcomer who did a good job for someone who is beginning.

Cons: Again, in the MCU, where everything has to have certain things fixed instead of making a film, just making the film the way it had to be connected. What I do think could have been better was the run time. It could have given us more time to breathe and process what happened between scenes. Bruce Cambell said that "Raimi has had to add scenes that Marvel/Feige told him he had to shoot, and he's removed scenes that no longer apply." He also said, "Until May rolls around, I don't think even Benedict Cumberbatch even knows if he's in this movie or not." And the problem I have with the MCU is that they need a story to connect; instead of having it a solo film, they have to connect it somehow so audiences know it's a Marvel movie, but that is false. You have the Marvel Studios logo, which is more than enough for people to see the film.

Overall this is the best Marvel movie ever since Endgame or Infinity War. But unfortunately, phase 4 to me has been a disappointment to me. I wouldn't say I liked almost all the tv shows besides Falcon and Winter Soldier and somewhat of Moon Knight. And heck, films such as Black Widow, Eternals, and somewhat Shang Chi disappointed me, and Spider-Man No Way Home (Though nostalgia made me love that movie). But Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was, in fact, Madness. 9/10.

P. S that dimension travel scene was so breathtaking.
