In addition 1/3 of 1star written reviews base their opinion on the replacement of Tim Allen by Chris Evans. In my opinion Evans did a much better job to portray the character, while Allen did a good job in portraying a doll out of the same character.
The rest of 1stars in my opinion was a punishment for the fuss on same gender relationship by people who haven't even watched the movie. If you take out the 10s and 1s of the demographic, it becomes a solid 7-7.5. This in my opinion is correct.
It is a sci-fi movie for the whole family and the is even a lot of humor, u-turns, near misses, interesting characters and good animations and that i wouldn't mind seeing again in a 2nd movie.
