fine making-of doc
27 August 2022
At that point, the iconic 'Gone With the Wind' is almost fifty years old. This is a TV documentary of the making-of the legendary film. It's fine as far as these old documentaries go, especially for TV. It's got lots of behind-the-scenes stuff. It does finally address the race issue for a little while. I had feared that this would paper over it entirely. It does spend more time on the casting or any of the other stuff. This is for fans of the film or the actors or the golden age of Hollywood. Christopher Plummer does the narration. It's fine old fashion work which is exactly this two hour affair.
