Lincoln Heights (2006–2009)
7/10
A Show with Untapped Potential
2 September 2022
Though I originally thought that the show was predominately for teens, I was pleasantly surprised once I found out that it was also a police crime - drama. The show follows the Suttons, a family of five who move into the city of Lincoln Heights (A city in the state of Los Angelas, California) and their constant struggles in life after they moved into the dangerous neighborhood. Pros: The acting in the show is great as Russell Hornsbury was fantastic as Eddie, and other actors such as Nicki Micheaux, Rhyon Nicole Brown, Mishon Ratliff, as well as a young Chadwick Bozeman (May the King of Wakanda RIP) all offered consistently stellar performances. The show handles dramatic moments very well with some of those moments leaving me with my jaws dropped. The show is also quite funny (sometimes unintentionally). Cons: The Cassie & Charles romance became mundane/uninteresting and I found Cassie to be very irritating throughout the show. I also feel that the show had a downgrade in quality after season 1, though the show was still mostly good afterwards. The logic in the show could be quite dumb at times with certain moments leaving me scratching my head.

Overall, Lincoln Heights is a pretty good show with strong acting, interesting character arcs, and good core drama. I do feel that the show focused too much on the aforementioned dull romance, and that the show seemed to have a lot of potential for some of its characters just for those characters to eventually disappear or worse.

Score: 7.0 - 7.5/10.
