Intense driven episode

Warning: Spoilers
House of the Dragon has been amazing so far, it has been far better than I was expecting. Episode 5 was the most intense episode yet. It has everything that made the original show amazing - suspense. The final 20 minuets or so had me sitting straight up, waiting for something crazy to happen.

Clare Kilner has done a brillant job at directing this episode, from the way it's shot, edited and paced. It's the only episode that hasn't had a time jump, as it appears we continue right from ep4. Ep5 sets up the next 5 eps amazingly. It's a shame that this episode may be the last we see of Milly Alcock and Emily Carey as younger versions of their characters. Milly has been brilliant and she deserves several awards for her performance.

This episode has been in my opinion the best episode so far. This is what Game of Thrones is - scheming, tense and bloody. And to think we are only half way through and stilll have many more seasons to go. It will be hard to top the original show, since it was one of a kind, but if this series keeps up with this quality of writing, we will have a series that will do what Better Call Saul did for Breaking Bad - improve on it's original.
