Screwballs (1983)
2/10
Where was the fun?...

Granted, as I stumbled upon the 1983 comedy "Screwballs", I had never heard about the movie prior to watching it. But it seemed like a movie in the spirit of "American Pie", so of course I opted to sit down and watch it. Perhaps I had been missing out on something hilarious.

Turns out that writers Linda Shayne and Jim Wynorski failed to provide me with much entertainment in what they wrote for the script and storyline. The storyline felt as if it was lacking a red thread to tie together each scene. And as such, the movie felt like something writers Linda Shayne and Jim Wynorski were writing independently without talking together.

The acting in the movie was adequate enough, I mean for a movie such as it turned out to be. Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in "Screwballs".

I didn't laugh once throughout the 80 minutes that the movie ran for. And having suffered through director Rafal Zielinski's 1983 comedy without a single laugh, I have to say that I am not even going to bother with the 1985 sequel.

My rating of "Screwballs" lands on a two out of ten stars.
