Black Adam was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and stars Dwayne The Rock Johnson. This was nothing, but a passion for this project for The Rock, and he has been trying to do this movie for 15 years. And after coming out of the film, it was fun... that's it. It was pretty mediocre at best. It was just a fun film, and I can't say much more than that. I think the only reason I didn't enjoy it more was because of the superhero fatigue everyone is feeling at the moment. However, other than that portable point, I still found this film to be very entertaining while still keeping to the superhero film formula. The action was incredible, and the visual effects were out of this world, which is great to see after what Marvel has been putting out lately. The Justice Society of America was amazing and was a blast to watch. I adored Doctor Fate, he was incredible and was the best part of this. Hawkman and Cyclone were both amazing and Atom Smasher was alright. But it all came to Dwayne Johnson and his portrayal of Black Adam, which was the point of watching a movie and seeing how he does in the film. And honestly, I just saw Dwayne Johnson playing a superhero and not the character of Black Adam. And that is always a downfall for me because, in acting people don't want to see the actor acting, they want to see that character. Dwayne Johnson was not even trying in the film. And I also feel bad for the mother and son characters; I am sorry, but those two just annoyed me throughout the entire movie, they were so bland and generic. And they got under my skin for the entire film. The story was bland, and the fact the that it fits in a 2000 superhero movie, I still see its release that day. All in all, I would recommend going to watch this with some friends, but don't expect it to be The Batman level of good, it's a dumb fun movie. And if you can get past some stinkers of the 80 and 90 films, this will be the same. 4/10. It's OK.
