How can you not love a story by Poe, acted by Cusack??
17 November 2022
Maybe it's because I have a dark-humor as well, which makes me kindred spirits with Poe, but I find most of his work completely brilliant. And have grown up in the 80s, John Cusack was in every popular movie at the time. Thus, my love for them both.

But this story combines several stories from Poe, with a killer on the loose who is encouraging Poe to spark his writing again with fresh material. It reminded me a bit of the movie, "Misery'. You don't need to have an intricate knowledge of Poe's work to understand, most of these are his top stories, which every has heard from their schooling. Just the hunt for a murderer who is using his short stories to kill, and the police need him to help solve this mystery.

In the end (no spoilers) this movie touches on many major emotions, greed, jealousy, subterfuge, love, hate, and above all - how much are you willing to sacrifice, and for what reasons.

RECOMMENDATIONS: I LOVED this movie. It held my attention from beginning to end. I don't recommend you watch it once - but twice. It's really good!
